While driving on a rural road and approaching a curve I experienced a sudden and unexpected loss of steering control. The road curved to the left and I turned the steering wheel to the left, but the car did not respond. The car continued to go straight and ran off the road and subsequently flipped over.
Steering issue which caused difficulty in turning which caused a collision, inspected by auto body collision center, no warning messages were present on vehicle.
The air bags did not deploy. The driver hit her head against the steering wheel and sustained neck and head pain. The contact stated that the front driver's side seat belt failed to retract and restrain her daughter; however, the front passenger's side seat belt retracted even though the seat was unoccupied.
Since I purchased the vehicle, I have experienced recurring warning messages stating: "Collision Mitigation Braking System Problem - See Your Dealer" and "Road Departure Mitigation System Problem - See Your Dealer." I brought the vehicle to the Honda dealer and reported these problems.
*The vehicle exhibited a profound and worrisome vibration under the driver's seat ( I was also told by a Honda Serviceman in the passenger seat during the pre-service test drive, that he felt it, also), when accelerating at speeds of 53 mph and above on the highway.
Rear liftgate window spontaneously cracked no signs of damage to the rear of vehicle rear glass was mostly intact but had tempered glass fracturing throughout while car was parked. In terms of safety, glass breaking spontaneously can cause damage to eyes/ect.
Lights that went off were : collision mitigation braking system, road departure mitigation system, auto high beam, adaptive cruise control, some driver assist systems cannot operate (clear front windshield or poor viewing distraction) - all at the same time, even when it's no visible windshield issues.
During the second winter of ownership, the windshield cracked under normal conditions without any known impact, collision, or external force. The vehicle was taken to an authorized Honda dealership for inspection. The dealership did not document any cause of the crack and did not identify any impact damage.
