Smoke was coming from the electrical compartment. We drove back to the dealer in lincoln nebraska. The ats was replaced. The next time we plugged into shore power, the ats worked for a few hours, and failed again. We are waiting to hear back from the dealer.
On may 28, 2019 while parked in a campground my ats (automatic transfer switch) caught fire, all electrical systems inside the rig shut down, I smelled smoke and immediately knew what to check as over 30 members on the fuse facebook page have documented this.
I am concerned about the ats in the vehicle. It is very, very hot and is discoloring the paper sheet that is near it because of this heat. I noticed this finally after reading online about many, many other owners having the same issue and some even had fires start. Mostly the ats burned up and had to be replaced.
There is a build-up of heat, smoke and flame present when it happens, as it did in my unit. My ats smoked and presented burned parts as my vehicle was stationary in a rv park in florida.
