The fuel tank on this motorcycle has developed a leak from fuel pump mounting flange on bottom of tank. I purchased this motorcycle used from a friend who rarely used it, and I suspect it has been leaking for quite some time.
Additionally, the vehicle stalled intermittently while driving at low speeds. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 400.
The contact stated that the clutch was depressed and the rear wheel seized just as the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and they were unable to determine the cause of failure. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 250 and the current mileage was 820. Problem started and still happens.
Aprilia has denied the replacement of my gas tank. At this point, the tank has spread around the gas cap, the seal between the tank and cap has a 2mm gap in between it and the tank, and the gas cap it self is recessing into the tank.

Tl contact owns a 2004 aprilia rsv 1000. The contact discovered that at low speeds, the rear suspension fails and the rear tire locks and slides under the seat. This causes the driver to lose control of the vehicle. He felt that certain aluminum parts should be steel and was due to a manufacturer defect.
