What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
The air bags did not deploy. The contact and her great-nephew were transported to her residence with the assistance of police patrol. The contact later sought medical assistance and was informed that she had sustained muscle spams from the upper body to the chin and headaches.
I was driving in a highway going at highway speed and the car suddenly just shut off and all the alert lights were reflected at that time the car was not responding completely, shut off, then within seconds after the lights flashed it started on it's own. It was the first time this happened.
The first week I owned the vehicle, I was driving and I lost power and the vehicle came to a stop. The mileage on the vehicle was 134 miles. [dealer] dealer indicated there was a failure in the engine and power train that caused the engine to lock up.
After using the jump start to start the vehicle and driving for a period of time, the vehicle's brakes failed on the highway. And many fault lights popped up.
That contact stated that while driving approximately 60 MPH, another vehicle suddenly came in front of the vehicle and depressed the brake pedal, and the braking assist failed to activate. The contact immediately depressed the brake pedal to stop the vehicle. The vehicle came to a stop and avoided a crash.
If the check engine light is flashing, a misfire condition has been detected. A misfire increases vehicle emissions and could damage the emission control system on the vehicle. Please reduce vehicle speed, avoid hard accelerations, avoid steep uphill grades, and reduce any cargo loads such as a trailer.
The contact stated while reversing out of a parking spot, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was not drivable. The contact towed the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the fuel pump module to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure.
The contact stated while her husband was driving approximately 30 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled with several unknown warning lights illuminated. Law Enforcement was notified of the failure and arrived to aid the driver. The vehicle was shifted into neutral and pushed to the side of the roadway.
