What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
This is not my personal vehicle, I work for an insurance company handling a claim in which two of our insured's employees were injured after losing control of their vehicle when the tread separated from the tire. A police report confirms this is how the incident occurred.
Windshield wipers would not turn off. Turning the motor off was the only way to turn them off. The windshield wipers came on by themselves and will not stop, when they do stop they do not return to park.
Intermittently windshield wipers become inoperable obstructing the driver views. Dealer sorry there is no recall on this vehicle. Please provide further information.
While driving there is vibration which may cause a loss of vehicle control. Took to chevrolet dealer. Dealer stated it was bad tire, and one of the tires had a bulge in it. Went to a tire place and they confirmed what dealer said. Also, indicated that wheels of the truck were defective.
Pe00 020; consumer was traveling about 70mph on highway and heard a loud noise because tread was hitting up againt vehicle. He was able to pull over to the shoulders. There were two incidents, second incident was on right rear tire, and first incident was on left rear tire where tread had separated.
To this date I have had 15 heater cores, 2 radiators, all hoses, 1 motor, and 2 sets of glow plugs replaced. Each time a component fails I get the truck back with the dealership telling me that they "fixed" the problem now and I won't be coming back.
While driving in rainy or dry conditions, and if two of the wheels are on the dirt and two on the pavement, and consumer applies the brakes, they go to the floor, and consumer can hear the abs kick in, but the vehicle will not stop.
Radiator, which was made out of plastic for a heavy duty vehicle, malfunctioned every 3 years. Has been replaced twice. Please provide further information and vin#.
