What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
The vehicle is a 2002 chevy model fg 15 with 63,500 miles on it. It is a company delivery van for a restaurant that my family owns. We were driving the vehicle when the passenger side air bag spontaneously deployed. The air bag caught my left leg which was crossed over my right leg at the time.
Driver seat adjuster, forward released suddenly and unexpectedly when I bumped it with my leg. This nearly resulted in loss of vehicle control. The adjustment lever requires too little force to release. The spring tension of the adjuster should be increased for safety.
Vehicle does not have windows. Contacted chevrolet, and chevrolet indicated only put convex mirrors on vehicles with windows.
