What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
The driver side rear firestone tire on my 1988 chevrolet scottsdale pick-up had the tread separate from the tire while traveling east on I-10 in tallahassee. I was going approx. 65 mph. The tread slapped the rear side of my truck bending and damaging it, and then wrapped around the axle under the vehicle.
The windshield wipers failed intermittently but when they were in operation they jerked.
Tires were recalled, previously exchanged, dot scratched off, and put back on a pick-up truck I recently purchased from a private owner(no help there by the way).
Drivers seat belt latch fell apart. The salvage yard did not have any because they said that the clip that locks the seat belt in place breaks on everyone of them.
Gas sloshing back and forth in tank broke gauge arm twice/fuel pump seven times.
