What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
Consumer was traveling about 15mph on a side street and hit a pothole, and driver's side airbag deployed in front of his face. And caused minor injuries.
Could smell strong odor of gas while idling inside cab of car. Checked under hood and found that both ends of fuel rail are leaking. End nearest fuel injection system is dripping rapidly onto motor. Parts store does not carry this part and its not able to be repaired.
This caused a major fuel leak on under the intake manifold. I saw by searching the web site that several others have complained of the same problem. I had to have the entire fuel rail replaced at a cost of $650.48. This should have been a recall due to propensity for fire hazard.
I incurred 2 fuel leaks from the fuel intake fuel rail. Each occurred at both 'u' joints. The fuel is leaking directly into the engine. My research online indicates that a great number of chryslers have similar problems. Obviously simultaneous fuel leaks into an engine is extremely dangerous.
Strong smell of gas (intermittent) for last 6 years. Only recently found cause. How much damage to my health? Lucky car has not caught fire. And now can't even find a replacement part!
The headlights were on but the head light door was closed. So, the driver had no lights. The driver had to drive holding the lever to keep the door ajar. The consumer felt it was very unsafe to have to drive this way. The headlight doors closed while driving at night. Also the two headlight lenses had turned colors.
While traveling on highway and without prior warning vehicle will shut off. Dealership is aware of problem.
On five occasions vehicle lost complete use of brake system when abs and brake light came on simultaneously. Vehicle been to dealer's shop on four occasions, and problem was reoccurring. Vehicle back to dealer's shop at this time for the fifth time. Feel free to provide any further information.
