What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
The gas peddle got stuck and will not let me stop causing me to hit someone
I’ve also noticed the car will sometimes accelerate on its own at speeds below 20 mph. I am taking the vehicle to a body shop on Monday to get fixed and be inspected.
The parking brake system on my 2023 Dodge Charger has repeatedly become loose and does not hold the vehicle securely. The vehicle has been taken to a Dodge dealership multiple times for adjustment or repair of the parking brake.
The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. The contact was able to safely move to a parking lot; however, the vehicle could not be shifted into park(P). The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and was diagnosed with gear shifter failure.
My 2023 Dodge Charger SXT with approximately 26,000 miles has experienced multiple incidents where, while turning into traffic or accelerating from a stop, the vehicle loses the ability to continue driving and displays a message instructing me to shift into Park and then Drive.
When the condition occurs, the vehicle is unable to exceed approximately 3,500 RPM and experiences engine stalling and loss of power while driving. The issue is intermittent but has occurred repeatedly.
"Between 12,000 and 13,000 miles, the parking brake pedal on my 2023 Dodge Charger began dropping to the floor with no physical resistance. It would fail to engage unless I rocked the vehicle back and forth.
1)The powertrain runs very loud while standing still with the car on .2)The brakes are not that good because they still roll once you put your foot on the brakes .3)Also,the back up camera screen goes black or blue ,also flickering a lot which is unsafe and unreliable. There may be an electrical problem with this car .
