What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
Never had any big issues with it until in 2014 I was driving home from work on the highway when I heard a loud bang and loud knocking noises followed shortly by an abrupt shut off.
My truck popped out of park, ran through it's parking brake, the door knocked me down and the front tire of my dodge 3500 ran over both of my legs and my arm. It broke my legs but did not brake my arm. I am still recovering.
The first year, I brought the car in for stalling on its own. The dealership told me that there was nothing that they could do and the car did not have a problem. I brought the truck in about three times for the same problem and every time, nothing was resolved.
Brake failure cause serious assault on guard rail, and dodge said I must have been driving to fast (@ 30 mph). They refused any warranty because "nothing can touch the wheel" and since the incident occurred after 93 days lemon laws did not apply so after (2) $900 brake jobs two weeks apart everything was fine.
When filling up my 2006 dodge durango with gas upon being full and the pump cutting off gass shoots out of the spout. This is getting very dangerous as the force it comes out at can easily cover anyone around the tank nozzel
As a result the shaft and pulley on the power steering was bent requiring replacement. Dodge is aware of the issue and provided a part to hold the belt onto the tensioner. It did not work. The belt has been replaced 6 times under 70k miles.
