What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
I was riding my ducati streetfighter s 2010 motorcycle on 101 highway at the speed limit on a straight line. Suddenly the engine stop working. It haven't worked for about two seconds. It as completely dead. Only the wheels were spinning under the momentum of the speed.
On three occasions I've had a sudden loss of power while riding at steady throttle at freeway speeds. The bike continues to run, but the power and speed drop dramatically. The power loss lasts between 1 and 2 seconds.
What to check before buying
- Electrical system. Scan all modules, test the battery and alternator, inspect connectors near the impact zone.
- Engine and cooling. Radiator and fan after a frontal hit, coolant level and condition, overheating.
