What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
I noticed the gas tank was loose while sitting on my motorcycle. The plastic tank has expanded past the tank mounts and can be picked up off of the frame. It was replaced once in 2011 after I was notified of a class action law suit. At the time of the initial replacement, the case was not settled.
This represents immediate danger in the form of flying tank, leaking fuel, fire, etc.
When owners complained
NHTSA complaints by filing year. The peak shows at what age the problems show up most.
