What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
The engine lights come on when the power leaves the powertrain, and I have to coast to a safe location. Recently, it happened while on a road trip to Tennessee on the interstate and I had to maneuver through traffic, coasting to get to the shoulder of the road and nearly had an accident due to loss of power.
The Skyline OS on the infotainment system frequently resets and goes entirely black during rides. This is a known software problem that Harley does not seem to be able to fix. It means that in the middle of a ride, you lose your speedometer and donât know how fast you are going.
The check engine light, battery light and warning light all came on. As this is a driver in Houston TX, power dying on these roads unexpectedly can cause accidents that on a motorcycle can kill me or the driver of another vehicle. After pulling fuse I was able to get started and get it back to dealership.
Vehicle goes into limp mode unexpectedly and with no warning. Lose all throttle control forcing me to pull off out of traffic and trying to do so safely.
