What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
I have had two d407 rear tires for a harley breakout 2013. My driving is a t2 mile stretch from oakland to richmond ca to work and from richmond to hayward 16 miles twice a week to work part time as a community college instructor. Trips to los angeles once or twice a year.
Tires on my 2013 breakout are showing serious signs of fracturing across the width of the tire. This has occured on both the front and back tires that come standard on the vehicle. The cracks on the front tire first appeared sometime between the 5k checkup and 7k.
I was on I-275 just east of the I-71 intersection in cincinnati, oh. My motorcycle engine stopped running. I was in the slow lane so I pulled in the clutch and coasted to a stop in the emergency lane. I had over a gallon of premium gas still in the tank.
