What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
Pulled into left turn lane and engine stalled. Bike completely stopped. Rear brake hose exploded. Caused by rear caliper brake seizing and overheating fluid. Lost brake fluid and minor fire. Suspect secondary master cylinder seized causing rear caliper to seize causing brake fluid to boil and blow off rear brake hose.
Rear brake locked up due to defective secondary master cylinder .
Consequence: unexpected braking increases the risk of a crash, and riding the motorcycle with the rear brake dragging may generate enough heat to cause the rear brake to catch fire. Remedy: honda will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the secondary master cylinder and if necessary, replace it, free of charge.

My motorcycle's front tire developed a very large blister approximately 2" wide by 7-8" long by 2" high this type of failure of the tread could easily be disastrous on a motorcycle. I've attempted to make contact with someone from dunlop about this defect with no response.
