What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
Dt*: the contact stated the rear suspension was unstable causing to much movement in the rear wheels. The motorcycle was towed to a local dealership. The mechanic determined the rear suspension needed to be replaced. The manufacturer has been alerted.
Dt: steering stem was not tightened down at the factory. This should have been caught at the 600 miles service, which was taken to the dealer, consumer states he paid for the service, but nothing was done. Took the vehicle to another repair shop, and they found that the nut was loose.
I could not tell if the tire was punctured. My cousin who also has the same motorcycle with the same equipment experianced a rear wheel deflation while at speed. His 2005 kawasaki ninja also had less than 400 miles on it.
The consumer had to drive very slow on the freeway for fear that he may be knocked off of the motorcycle by the wobble.
