What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
Fuel leaking from fuel sending unit and puddling on top of tank. My whole garage is full of fuel vapor! Not to mention if it contacted a hot part on the car. I just found out this is a "known issue".
As a loyal mercedes benz customer for years it pains me to write this letter. I am shocked to see a class action lawsuit against mbna and have personally had two fuel cell issues in two separate amg cars 6 years apart. It doesn't matter that my extended warranty covered the cost before and this time.
Smell of gas from under the vehicle near right rear tire. Pool of gas in plastic tray under car.
Fuel leaks into bottom cover pan and ultimately to the ground when capacity of cover pan is exceeded.
