What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
I believe with my heart and soul my beautiful wife was killed due to failure of vehicle in motion and lost all control.
The contact stated while driving 45 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power without warning. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The dealer was contacted and stated the vehicle was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V955000 (Fuel System, Diesel, Fuel System, Gasoline). The vehicle was not diagnosed.
The cam shaft adjuster failed, causing a loss of power in the engine. Vehicle could not maintain speed on hills or merge onto interstates in this condition.
This new mercedes-benz ml400 has a manual transmission feature that without reason reverts back to automatic within about 10 seconds without any reason. This prevents the driver from being able to control traction in slippery or other difficult conditions, which clearly was our experience.
