What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
The contact stated that the motorcycle hesitated and failed to shift gears at low and high speeds. The gear shift fractured due to the failure and the contact had to replace the part. In addition, the battery was replaced four times and taken to the dealer three times.
The motorcycle start-up is not consistent. More often than not the main high beam light would dim indicating that there is battery, but it does not start, and when this happens you cannot even hear anything clicking. Start-up on the first try is less than 1% of the times.
Charging led showed that the bike was not charging. Stator and voltage rectifier/regulator failed. The charging system was no longer charging the battery or supplying electricity to the electrical system. Replaced stator and voltage rectifier/regulator. Old stator is still available, threw out the r/r.
Fuel gauge quite working. Nothing was done to replace, as the sending unit is bad and you can not purchase a new sending unit.
One week later, the contact noticed fuel leaking from his vehicle, which could possibly cause a fire. The vehicle has not been repaired. The vin was unknown. The failure and current mileages were 11,000.
