What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal thumping sound coming from the roof of the RV, prompting the contact to pull over to the shoulder of the roadway to investigate. After a visual inspection, the contact observed that the roof mounted solar panel had partially detached.
The coolant caused leaked out and the engine overheated and quit. Thor has acknowledged this problem, but Thor had no recall notice and will not cover the engine under warranty. This could have been a safety issue by starting an engine fire and having the vehicle stop in the middle of a state highway.
