What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
I finally traced the leak down to the bottom of the fuel pump mounting flange where it mounts to the fuel tank.
Fuel injection check valves at the lower right of the tank are plastic, and glued in. This is not a repairable part, in my opinion it's a job security scam, they snap, and have been known to snap according to several forums.
Upon starting my 2005 triumph tiger I noticed a lot of gasoline spraying on to the engine from the left side of the bike by the end of the gas tank, right by the seat.
Failure of main power lead from ignition switch caused complete electrical power failure including engine ignition and lighting system. This power lead breaks from being flexed back and forth as the motorcycle is steered.
