What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
At 12,000 miles transmission jammed while downshifting. A loud bang and it shifted ok, but made noise. To dealer 8/06 who performed tear down. Found syncro dogs broken off second gear, the broken parts destroyed 3rd 4th & main shaft. Polaris denied any issues with the bikes & refused goodwill assistance.
When making a turn an attempt is made to accelerate slowly but there is no reaction, then without warining, the motorcycle will lurch forward, but if the road surface is moist the rear wheel will break traction, causing the motorcycle to slide sideways until brought under control by pulling on the clutch lever.
