What owners report

2000 volvo conventional. Unit #1 was eastbound in far right lane. Unit #1 experienced blow-out on the forward drive axle, tandem, on passenger side of cab, causing damage to fuel tank, fiberglass body, and mud flap assembly. (ohio traffic crash report # 10-0401-90)
Same component failed at 17291 miles. Both units were replace under warranty but when they fail the gas pedal is inoperative and the speed diminishes to less than 10 mph. This is hazardous on a busy highway. Besides the safety concerns, I am concerned about replacement of an expensive part every year.
Also there has been a time or two when I could not open the hood which I feel could be a potential hazard due to unforseen problem such as a engine fire etc.. The truck looks good without the latches on the outside, but believe me I've had a few exciting moments from the hood popping open on me as I'm coming to a stop…
Consumer owns four of these trucks, they are experiencing steer tire wear and problems with alignment, on one of the vehicles the left tire broke causing a fuel spill, two of the vehicles had tire blowouts, consumer also stated everything inside tire broke, consumer also states there were accidents, however did not…
The vehicle began to vibrate 9 months after purchase. Vibration was felt through steering wheel, but the cause is unknown. The dealer replaced tires and performed wheel alignment, but the problem was not solved.
The right drive axle tire blew out and began to spark, the driver pulled off the road and the entire vehicle became engulfed in flames (ohio traffic crash report). Nlm
Driver experienced problems with the steering axle and the tire blew out causing loss of control and collision into ditch and guardrail, possible steering defect (ohio traffic crash report).
