What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
Speedometer just started reading about three times the actual speed of the motorcycle. I now have no way of knowing the actual speed of the vehicle.
I am submitting an incident report for a heat-related failure of the fuel pump that causes an engine stalling condition and a failure to re-start. This is a dangerous condition since my motorcycle quit while riding on the road and would not re-start until the motorcycle cooled.
I would like to report a fuel pump failure on my 2008 yamaha wr250x with 6700 miles. I rode it to work and on my way home it was approximately 90 degrees and the fuel pump started cutting out. I tried stopping and filling up, letting the bike cool, waiting until cooler outside. Fuel pump continues to cut out.
