The gauge cluster, infotainment/stereo display, LoJack system, and airbag system all shut off, and the airbag warning indicated the system was inactive. The failure lasted two days with no gauges and no working airbags, and nothing came back on after restarting the vehicle.
Suddenly the brake pedal dropped, a Service ESC warning came up on the dash, and the engine light came on. In the Chevrolet app, it has a vehicle status warning "Antilock braking system". Thankfully I was sitting in a parking lot, or it could have been MUCH worse, for me.
Beginning in May 2026, the vehicle developed a steering column defect: play in the steering wheel, a catch or jerking sensation while driving and turning (particularly at low speeds and on rougher residential/city roads), a structural popping noise, and an accompanying dashboard rattle.
The contact stated that while driving approximately 45 MPH and approaching a traffic light, the contact heard a loud popping sound, and the sunroof suddenly shattered. The sunshade was closed at the time of the failure. The contact stated that glass started blowing from the sunroof.
The vehicle developed a rapid and moderate shudder followed by "Check Engine", "Service Traction Control", "Service ESC" messages and associated icons on the driver display. The shudder happened a second time within approximately 30 seconds and the engine lost power followed by "Reduced Power Warning" message.
The dealer was contacted. The manufacturer was contacted by phone and made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 11,798.
