What parts really cost in Ukraine: genuine, used and aftermarket

A price comparison by OEM part number using a 2023 Mazda CX-5: why the US price list inflates an estimate 2–3 times and how to build a realistic budget.

VinWind · Updated · Illustration: 3D model, not a photo of a real car

An estimate based on the US MSRP price list and the exchange rate is 2–3 times higher than the real repair in Ukraine. A new genuine part here costs roughly 30–50% of MSRP, a used part from a breaker 10–30%, an aftermarket part 10–25%.

Example: 2023 Mazda CX-5

Prices: prom.ua listings by OEM part number, 2023 Mazda CX-5 (KF), collected 24.10.2026, 1–10 listings per item; exchange rate 45.10 UAH/$. These are part prices without labour, not repair prices.

For new parts we took the lowest price, so the table says "from". Sellers of "new from the US" parts usually already include shipping and duty, so their price is closest to a real estimate.

What an estimate is made of

  • Parts: for each one you choose genuine, used or aftermarket. For safety items (airbags, seat belts) and sensors, genuine only.
  • Body work: replacement, panel beating, welding, jig work.
  • Paint: the number of panels and materials; pearl and tri-coat paints cost more.
  • Diagnostics and calibration: SRS, radars, cameras, wheel alignment.
  • A reserve for hidden damage: what does not show in the photos but is likely behind the impact zone.

Common estimating mistakes

  • Using the auction's Est. Repair Cost as the estimate (see Total Loss and ACV).
  • Pricing a part by an inexact number: for example, the bumper lip and the bumper cover itself have different OEM numbers and different prices.
  • Forgetting the radar and calibration after a frontal impact.
  • Estimating "by eye" without OEM numbers: for the same model, parts from different years and trim levels are not interchangeable.

How we use this

In VinWind reports, parts are chosen by VIN and trim level, prices come from Ukrainian listings, and the likelihood of damage comes from the impact zone in the photos. The general budget logic is described in Repair scope and components, and lots with an estimate are on the Lots page.
