What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
Traveling at speed 67 mi.per hr., when left rear axle broke, wheel came off, on interstate, hit retaining wall, and total car.
Consumer stated that passenger's side window broke, and that passenger and driver sustained cuts and burns. Consumer has contacted dealer. Consumer feels the airbags should not have deployed for just running over highway debris.
The airbags failed to deploy in a head-on collision in the car even though they deployed in the other car that was involved in the accident. The cadillac had extensive damage to the left front end to the extent that the unibody on that side was crumpled, a large part of the front will be replaced and the windshield…
Vehicle was involved in a frontal collision and then rolled over, and the airbags did not deploy. The dealer has been notified. Owners will notify the manufacturer.
Of course I had to park it to keep it from catching on fire.. It's a 1996 cadillac deville and it's in mint condition. I am asking for some help in getting this repaired/replaced.
While placing fuel in the vehicle, the contact observed fuel leaking from underneath the vehicle by the fuel tank. The vehicle was serviced per nhtsa campaign number: 04v110000 (fuel system, gasoline:delivery:hoses, lines/piping, and fittings), but the remedy failed to repair the vehicle.
The contact stated that the front driver and rear seat belts failed to lock. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 106,000.
My seat belt on the driver side will not latch. The tongue will not insert into the buckle. I reported the problem to gm/ cadillac and was told to visit the local dealer. The representative of the dealer in zanesville, ohio told me the seat belt buckle was no longer available.
