What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
A fuel leak was not visible. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and an independent mechanic, who both stated that the fuel injector o-rings would need to be replaced. The vehicle was previously repaired under nhtsa campaign id number 98v1840000 (fuel system, gasoline).
I have had to replace the brake line multiple times over a six month period, and also the unibody has rusted out and I am unable to drive the vehicle. I was wondring if there has been a recall on this vehicle.
Had to have break lines replaced-they removed cross member to access line and removed and manufacture tube and replace. $442.91 for 5 hours of labor and parts---my car was the 7th car in one week to need this expensive repair from a chrysler car.
Consumer stated that while driving there was too much play in steering, and steering was too loose. She took the vehicle to a mechanic, and was told that the rack and pinion/ inner tie rod, and bushings were too loose. Consumer will take the vehicle to a dealer later.
At the slightest touch of the restraints they become unlatched. Please provide additional information.
Apparently head gasket failure is a common problem with neons of this vintage. Of course, you don't find out until it happens to you.
When driving towards the sunlight the reflection off the dashboard onto the windshield is so bad that the glare creates a dangerous blind spot which impairs the driver's visability in front of him..
While driving vehicle stalls unexpectedly which may cause a crash. Also has a no start condition at times. Been to dealer several times, and deale rcannot determine the cause. Please provide further information and vin#.
