What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
My car keeps stuttering and stalling. I've been trying to get it fixed at specialists but they say nothing is wrong with the car, even though I've been stuck on the side of the road multiple times. Not to mention the intense jerking the car does when I try and speed up .
It’s caused the vehicle to stall after putting gas in the tank, and just recently stalled while driving, causing me to hit a curb leading to the passenger front tire popping, the rim being dented, the tire rod bent, alignment out of wack, and the valance ripped off.
While driving my car cuts off in the middle of the intersection of one of the most busiest streets where I live causing someone to bump into me nothing major but I was already still at that point with my Emergancy signals on but the oil pump went causing my car to shut completely off oil light comes on I contacted a…
During extraction of the driver, the fire and rescue cut power to the vehicle to prevent the steering wheel air bag from deploying. They remarked to the driver that the steering wheel and side airbags should've deployed with the amount of impact to the vehicle and injuries sustained by the driver.
The window shattered. The damage to the fender was significant enough to distort the front bumper. The "pan" or area immediately below the door was bent approximately 6 to 8 inches toward the midline of the car.
However, the contact stated that while driving, the vehicle stalled without warning, the contact turned on the hazard warning lights while on the highway and was about to drive when the vehicle was rear ended by another vehicle. The contact sustained back and neck injuries that required medical attention.
My car, on the other hand has been declared a total loss by my insurance company as it immediately burst into flames upon impact. As I mentioned above, the traffic was slow-moving so we were not traveling at more than 25-30mph at any time on that stretch as we navigated the traffic.
During the crash, the air bags did not deploy. No injuries were reported. A police report was taken at the scene and the vehicle was towed away. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer long lewis ford([address], hoover al.) who was unable to determined cause of failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure.
