Tl* takata recall. The contact owns a 2009 gmc sierra denali. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v381000 (air bags); however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair.
The vehicle check engine light came on and the engine stopped running while in motion. No injuries or accident accorded at the time, but we were stranded on the side of the road. According to the recall bulletin, this recall was vin specific and my vehicle's vin was not a part of this recall.
The dash is cracked in the airbag area and I am concerned about it flying off and possibly causing an injury in the event of an airbag deployment.
