What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
Neither front or side airbags deployed at a 45 mph frontal and side collision.
The car rolled downhill and pined wife between side of garage and vehicle. Luckily, the sheet metal side panel of car deflected enough to save her and once the car ran into something in the garage and stopped she was able to escape.
I tried to stop it but brakes did not work, steering was locked and can not turn off ignition either. Vehicle traveled about 800 - 1000 ft before it stopped. Vehicle finally came to stop by trees. Steering, brakes and gas nothing worked as expected and I had no control over this vehicle.
The brakes failed to properly stop my 2010 hyundai veracruz while driving on a primary arterial road. There was no indication of any brake failure or warning light prior to this braking failure. Brakes were working fine in stop and go traffic just prior to the failure.
Already filed odi number 10447654; request status of investigation. There have other reported incidents. [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
I pulled into a gas station at a low speed; there were four pumps in line. At the first one a car was being fueled so I waned to move to the second pump. When I started to brake the car kept moving forward then I was practically standing on the brake but the car kept moving causing me to hit the stationary car.
