What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
Vehicle fails to shift from Reverse to Drive on occasion. It leads you to believe that the gear has changed, and then you depress the gas, and it continues in reverse. On on occasion it caused me to back into a wall approximately 6 inches away. The. Result was over $5,000 in damage, which has been repaired.
Vehicle lost motive power in active traffic. Called 911 again. Towed via Land Rover Roadside Assistance to Howard Orloff Imports (authorized retailer), Chicago. JLRNA Tech Line confirmed via data logger: "DC TO DC CONVERTER FAILED INTERNALLY." Converter physically replaced (Part No. 433123464).
INCIDENT 1 – [XXX] While driving, my vehicle displayed a red “Stop Safely Electrical Fault Detected” warning message and subsequently lost motive power, coasting to a stop in Bellevue, WA. I was unable to safely move the vehicle out of active traffic.
The brakes, power steering, hill descent, etc ALL stopped working! After being in the shop a little over a month, again, I was told it was a software update and sent on my way. That night, while driving home, the Auto Brake Hold ENGAGED while I was driving and my vehicle jerked back and forth continually.
The proprietary wiper blades on my 2024 Range Rover Sport have been replaced 4 times in 6 months due to my inability to see clearly out my windshield during rain.
Lane Keep Assist malfunctions unpredictably at highway speeds—at times making abrupt steering inputs without warning or failing to intervene during lane departure—creating a safety hazard. The vehicle has excessive wind noise, suggesting door or glass seal issues.
Brakepad warning light (was informed that it is not covered under warranty even though I only have less than 13K miles) 2. After two attempts to fix the window seal issue, the issue still persists 3. The navigation screen on my driver console doesn’t display when in CarPlay mode 4.
On 27 July 2025, my 2024 Range Rover Sport, suffered a sudden and catastrophic engine fire while driving shortly after an overheating warning appeared. This occurred approximately two weeks after routine maintenance at a Land Rover dealership.
