What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
The headlights are very dim and do not reflect enough light. After my mother could not see the road and ran off and had an accident I installed hid bulbs but still the same problem due to the housing giving very little reflection out to the road.
Dim headlights cause poor street visibility and hit vehicle parked in the street in a dark commercial area. Headlights cannot be opened to service and headlights no longer available to order new. No aftermarket options. Has been using high beams in dark areas.
The air bags did not deploy. A police report was not filed. The contact had the vehicle towed to a mechanic who stated that the head gasket was busted and the power steering pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle was unsafe to drive.
Then the lab results stated internal failure of the 05s28 sdcs, death certificate states ________ cause of death; smoke inhalation, which means the car was on fire before it hit the tree, thermal injuries due to fire, motor vehicle collision. It's hard to drive when your being burned to death.
The headlights failed prematurely causing multiple night time accidents, even after replacement night time visibility is poor at best.
As he was driving down the road the engine caught fire, he tried to pull over but the fire had caused the brakes to go out, he and his passenger were killed on impact of a tree, my son tried as much as he could without brakes to avoid. Both bodies were burned beyond recognition.
