My airbags did not deploy and I hit my head on the steering wheel. I received a letter in the mail today about a reacall with a bar code and numbers tk66253230. I do not have my police report they don't hand them out anymore in il where I live as they are electronic now but I can go to the police station and purchase…
I had on my seatbelt and the airbag did not deploy. I checked for cars in the fast lane and slowly moved onto the shoulder. The driver of the truck followed me. I purchased the car used last year from mile one in baltimore, md. The car fax for the vehicle was great, with no issues.
Vehicle exhibits sudden acceleration. Approx 25% to 35% of the time vehicle will lurch forward when accelerating from a stop. Vehicle behaves as if the accelerator if pressed down all the way, even though it is barely engaged. Sometimes the acceleration is so strong that the tires will break loose.
The controls essential for vehicle operation (speedometer, tachometer, transmission gear placement), otherwise known as the center "cluster" controls are illuminated regardless if headlights are on or off. This vehicle is not equipped with automatic headlights, thus making this issue more pressing.
The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle during or following a heavy rainstorm, the vehicle failed to start immediately. Once started, the engine vibrated, the vehicle failed to accelerate properly, and the check engine warning light illuminated on the instrument panel.
