What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
After being parked for several days at the airport, the vehicle turned on, but would not start. The instrument cluster had the following message, âService required do not change transmission positionâ. I contacted Mercedes road side assistance who cannot access this parking level.
While driving, the instrument cluster and infotainment system displays intermittently go blank for 2-3 minutes. It appears that instrument cluster and infotainment systems crash and reboot. We have not noted any errors or warnings that may precede a failure.
As I entered a single lane roundabout the car suddenly stopped very abruptly. There was no imminent danger nor were there any cars coming through the roundabout. There was no reason to apply the brakes. Fortunately there was no car behind me otherwise there certainly would have been a rear end collision.
The screens shut down while driving. Since then, it has been back at the dealership #6 other times for the same issue, and they have not been able to fix things. Yesterday at a highway, it happened #6 times.
