What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
On July 27, 2026, while driving my 2019 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 63 under normal conditions, the vehicle suddenly displayed a suspension warning stating, âMalfunction â Drive at Max. 50 mph.â The warning appeared while the vehicle was in motion; I had not received this suspension warning before the incident.
Mercedes-Benz said this connector can let water in, which can cause a short circuit, overheating, and a fire risk while the car is parked and off. That is why the vehicle was covered by recall 24V445 / MBUSA Campaign [phone].
Warning messages and check-engine lights continued to appear, and the underlying issue was never properly resolved. The dealer repeatedly cleared fault codes and performed symptom-based repairs without identifying or correcting the cause.
The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at various speeds, the vehicle started to lose motive power with the check engine warning light illuminated. Additionally, the contact observed a grinding noise emanating from the engine compartment, and a message appeared that the transmission had failed.
The steering column sticks in the up position. The electric motor will not move up or down. Not being able to correctly adjust the height of the steering column is a safety issue.
The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V478000 (Power Train) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair.
