What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
The consumer was in a head-on collision and airbags did not deploy. The consumer stated an out of control vehicle hit the right front of her vehicle. The other driver's air bag deployed. A representative from mb stated the srs functioned as designed; it didn't deploy because the impact was below deployment threshold.
Tl contact owns a 1999 mercedes benz e430. The contact stated that the front driver side coil spring support and the coil spring fell off of the vehicle while he was driving approximately 60 mph. Because of that failure, he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into someone's yard.
Non-deployment of airbags in an accident, my wife suffered a back injury, nothing done yet.
Without any warning or check engine lights, the vehicle lost power steering and anti-lock power brakes. My wife ran through a stop sign and into a field before regaining control, although limited, of the vehicle. The harmonic damper had disintegrated taking out the whole front of the engine.
This accident happened because my engine stalled while I was approaching an intersection and I was slowing down to make a turn. The cause of the accident was related to a known mechanical problem with mercedes benz. Failure of the cps (crankshaft positioning sensor) or also known as the reference sensor.
I had a auto accident and none of my airbags went off. I had a side impact (passenger side) first and was driven head on into a telephone pole. The force of the accident broke the pole. My face hit the windshield and my chest was impacted by the steering wheel. Windshield broke, glass was imbedded in my forehead.
