What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
From the time of purchase the car will not start after gas is put into it when the car is cut off. By pressing the accelerator slightly it will resume normal operation.the key does not come out of the ignition and the parking brake will not disengage it.
After refueling the vehicle, it failed to start. The accelerator pedal had to be depressed in order for the vehicle to start. Two months later, the key became stuck in the ignition off position and failed to release. While in park, the vehicle rolled away and crashed into the rear of another vehicle.
There was no warning light illuminated. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and became aware that the crossmember for the front alignment was severely corroded. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The dealer was not contacted, and the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired.
The SRS light on the dash is on. the passenger seatbelt does not alert when thereâs a passenger who needs to put on there seatbelt.
The subframe on the passenger rear side broke due to rust. Both subframes are rusted front and back but the rest of the underneath of the car is perfect. I need it replaced and the dealer said they can not even get the part anymore. So my car is pretty much totaled. The suv is only 12 years old. That is pathetic.
While fueling the vehicle, the contact noticed fuel leaking and the check engine indicator illuminated. The contact also noticed a strong odor of fuel around the vehicle.
While driving 50 mph, the air conditioner started to produce warmer air. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact associated the failure with nhtsa campaign number: 10v514000 (electrical system). The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the contact was informed to replace the battery.
My car will die when idling or if speed is less than 20 mph. It takes numerous times to restart and will have to accelerate to get it going again. This can happen anywhere at anytime.
