What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
The front brakes stick in the applied position causing abnormal heat generation on a ford f550 chassis.this seems to be the same problem that is being experienced on the workhorse chassie. The brakes start sticking after they have been applied once or twice, after a little heat has been built up.
I lost my brakes while driving westbound on highway 98 from pensacola fla. Pulled to the side of the road called a mechanic who arrived and bled the brakes and inspected for and unusual items. I was driving a 2005 w22 workhorse chassis motorhome.
Tl contact owns a 2004 newmar scottsdale rv. The contact stated that the brakes were failing. Recall number 50901-c and nhtsa campaign id number 09v217000 (service brakes, hydraulic) state that the brakes will lock up and not release until they cool off. The brakes are located on a 2003 workhorse chassis.
Dt*: the contact stated while driving various speeds, the air intake located next to the engine consumes water in rainy weather which causes the engine to stall without warning. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer who installed a bonnet around the air intake which extended the air intake.
Dt the contact owns a 2004 newmar scottsdale. The motor home is on a workhorse chassis, and the instrument panel is supplied with a workhorse chassis , under the speedometer there is a led display panel which it tells the contact what gear he in as well as other data.
There was no failure at this point however the auxiliary gas tank on the newmar corp. Rv which is for the generator is not dot compliant. They have been told of this but said that it does not need to be. Is this the case?
