What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
While driving approximately 30-40 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed and the vehicle stalled. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to darcars nissan (located at [address], rockville, [ZIP], [phone]) to be diagnosed.
Both drivers and passengers side sun-visors will not stay up against the ceiling, or against the windshield, and drop down into my line of sight, which makes it a hazard while driving because it will not stay in place. Myself and hitting our head on them.
After 50 days of use, the vehicle would shudder when accelerating at low speeds. This began inconsistently and then happened more often. At the same time another issue began.
Told it was prematurely rusted. Also regarding rear door: initially with repetitive closing by itself. Would open and then automatically re close. Hit my wife on the head (minor injury).
At others, there is a significant delay which may or may not be followed by a violent "thud" and wild lurch forward of the vehicle. My concern around this issue is two fold; 1) accident avoidance.
The contact stated that the vehicle stalled on multiple occasions. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle was not getting accurate fuel mileage. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired.
While driving I noticed the front passenger air bag status light* turned on indicating the air bag was turned off while my wife the passenger was sitting in the seat with the seat belt buckled correctly. When I turned off the vehicle and turned it on the air bag status light turned off.
Slammed on brakes (emergency stop) center lane of highway due to car in front being cut off. Large truck behind me so I tried to immediately accelerate to avoid being hit from behind. Pressed gas pedal to floor and nothing happened! Totally quiet (electric still engaged) and I was a sitting duck!
