What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
Many times I have had cars following me that had to hit their brakes to avoid my decrease in speed before I could correct the transmission shift to the correct gear. This problem only occurs when riding and trying to increase the speed of the motorcycle by shifting up though the gears.
Front rear section of front fender cracked near mounting bolt. Was discovered and replaced with same. Type oem part.
Tl contact owns a 2000 polaris victory v92 motorcycle. While driving and shifting into third gear the transmission shifted into second gear automatically which caused the motorcycle to slow down immediately.
The consumer stated the transmission went into a false neutral when going into 3rd gear which caused the motorcycle to stall in traffic. The consumer stated he was forced to downshift or upshift.
Dt*: the contact stated while driving 40 mph, a grinding noise was heard and the transmission shifted hard from third to forth gear. The dealer was contacted and suggested the transmission needed to be replaced. The motorcycle was a 1999 victory v92.
The contact stated the transmission slipped into a false neutral and down shifted on its own. The vehicle was taken to the dealership, but they stated it will have to be disassembled to determine the problem, and the contact would have to pay for the diagnosis.
