What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
My 2026 Toyota Land Cruiser has developed an exceptionally loud front brake squeal, documented by Toyota on June 3, 2026. Although Toyota has issued a Technical Service Bulletin addressing this condition, no repair has been completed.
My vehicle started when I left work and about 1/4 mile down the road every dash light came on and said Check Engine Reduced Engine power, Secondary collision Brake System malfunction, Hybrid system malfuncion, System malfunction, Drive start control malfunction.
Vehicle suddenly surged forward with incredible energy and noise. Vehicle sped off parking lot and ascended steep ~6-foot berm of forest soil (no boulders). Driver applied brake, but it would not work. Driver later reported many red light warning indicators on the dash.
The contact became aware of a loss of power. The contact was able to continue driving the vehicle. The failure was intermittent. The vehicle was towed. The dealer was contacted and replaced a hose and clamp that had popped out of place. The failure mileage was approximately 8,000.
The driver's side exterior mirror on my 2026 Toyota Land Cruiser vibrates excessively while driving, particularly at highway speeds. The vibration causes the mirror image to become blurred, making it difficult to accurately monitor adjacent lances and surrounding traffic.
1. Brake System Failure-Recurring dashboard warnings including âBrake Power Lowâ and âSecondary Collision Brake System Malfunction.â Warnings have appeared multiple times, including while towing a travel trailer. The vehicle was diagnosed with related fault codes (including DTC C138071 â Stop Lamp Relay).
