What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
Fog Lights (Rigid Industries Version) significantly shake during normal street driving conditions. Any minor bumps on the road cause a shudder like movement from the fog lights that is distracting while driving and potentially blinding to oncoming drivers as the lights flash up and down.
There was no warning light illuminated. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 30,000.
The fuel line clip of the Land Cruiser got disconnected and started leaking gasoline while the engine was running. I had the car towed to Hammer Toyota and they had us pay for the hose to be reconnected.
My 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser has exhibited persistent brake squealing since the day it was purchased. The noise occurs during normal braking conditions and has been present from the very first use of the vehicle. This is not a break-in issue, as it has never resolved on its own.
The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who was unable to duplicate or diagnose a failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the front windshield had developed several cracks and had to be replaced. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 9,000.
The odor of unburnt gasoline was very strong and I had begun to get a headache and get dizzy, I had to open the windows while it was pouring heavy rain. Given the area had a lot of standing water, I wasn't able to stop safely. I was able to limp the vehicle in hybrid mode to a nearby uphill exit.
Today, the inside door handle would not let me out. It was like it was disconnected altogether. The door was unlocked. That being said, I unlocked and locked sever times. Still wouldn't let me out.
My Toyota Landcruiser First Edition was locked and parked directly in front of my residence, right in front of my bedroom window. Thief broke the rear window, climbed in, and took 25 minutes to start the car before driving off without the factory alarm ever sounding.
