What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22T006000 (Tires) and submitted a recall repair request form to the manufacturer; however, the manufacturer denied the request and advised the contact that the tires were in good condition based on the photos he had submitted.
A few minutes later, the bike stalled and would not re-start. My mechanic found water in the instrument cluster and specified that the fuel pump controls pass through the instrument cluster, and that the instrument cluster had been "burned out".
Right foot peg broke off when I put my weight on it to mount the motorcycle. Motorcycle was stationary in this instance, but could happen at speed if a rider were to stand on the pegs while riding. The bolt attaching the foot peg clevis to the frame fractured. Pictures of the face of the bolt attached.
While riding my motorcycle over bump in the road, at 25 mph, the right foot peg departed from the motorcycle. My right foot made contact with road surface. No injury. I retrieved the broken peg from road for inspection. I observed that the mounting clevis bolt sheared at the connection to the outrigger.
In may 2010 I noted three broken spokes in the rear wheel while on vacation in arkansas. Since that time three more spokes have broken for a total of six. These have been found individually, as I now inspect the rear wheel frequently. The motorcycle now has 23,000 miles on it.
Broken spoke/ nipple. I had noticed my rear tire flat on my motorcycle in the garage, when I looked to see how it became flat I found a broken spoke/nipple. A piece of the spoke nipple had punctured the inner tube and caused the flat.
