What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
The bike will jump or lurch out of control , locking up the back tire causing the rider to lose control. Sometimes the bike will begin bucking/jumping forward uncontrollably this again will cause the rider to lose control. This problem with this model/year /make is well documented.
Kick stand will retract when weight is removed from it. As soon as you center the bike the kick stand retracts. When parking the bike you must hold the kick stand in the down position with you left foot until all the bikes weight is on it.
High speed wobble to extreme and crash, resulting in severe injuries.
I immediately noticed a very hard hitting, loud sounding clunk when I shifted gears coming from the transmission. I thought that maybe it was just the norm for this bike. I found out I was wrong and it nearly cost me my life.
While traveling approximately between 30-35 mph the transmission suddenly slipped out of third gear as a result of the vehicle stalling. The gear selector was then shifted into second gear and the vehicle continued normal operation.
The front brake system on my bike has a terrible unsafe surging. With the original, first brakes, it started early in miles. Polaris replaced my pads and disc but it wasn't long before the surging started again.
Failed fuel pump caused engine to quit while in traffic. Vehicle towed to residence.
Vehicle died while driving or at a stopping. Sometimes, motorcycle will restart or it will have to be towed into dealer. Fuel pump was replaced, but deffect kept reoccurring, and cause was unknown.
