The vehicle was repaired for the recalls; however, the manufacturer stated that they were not liable for the issues with the gears slipping because there was no recall for that particular failure. The failure mileage was 18,000 and current mileage was 18,300.
Tl* - the contact stated that he received recall notice# 06v298000 for the 2001 victory v92sc sport cruiser motorcycle, power train: manual transmission. The manufacturer stated that the owners must leave their motorcycles with the dealer due to the safety issue for 7 months.
On my 2000 victory sport cruiser built by polaris industries, I had a counter balance shaft completely strip out effecting the primary drive sprocket rendering the transmission useless.the motorcycle transmission failed at 7,500 miles under mild to normal highway use.
Dt*: the contact stated while driving 55 mph and letting off of the gas the transmission knocked. When the vehicle was driven below 40 mph and the transmission would not knock. The dealer was contacted however the main technician was unavailable.
1 normal riding. Dealer serviced vehicle. 2 spun rear wheel bearing, wheel damage. Potential lock up of rear wheel and loss of control of motorcycle. Injury and death of rider and passenger. 3 I will have to find a rear wheel. Vehicle purchased in 2000. Per the dealer the rear wheel was obsolete.
After 17,500 miles,I heard scraping noises from the rear wheel that would eventually disappear when riding the bike from a cold start. Noticed slight wiggle when leaning into turns at 60 mph. I placed the bike on a lift and was able to move the rear tire side to side with my hands.
