What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
Tread separated from case on tire. I began to loose control of the motorcycle but manged to bring it's speed down from 65 mph to a stop without a crash.
I was having a tire repaired at "ridersville cycle" in berkley springs, west virginia on sept. 28, 2007 when the technician showed me the rear axle of my 2006 victory, vegas, motorcycle. The axle had a large piece missing at the very end of the axle, photos of the axle are available.
While driving 35 mph, coolant began leaking from the front fender and the red engine overheating light illuminated. The contact stated that fluid began leaking from the steering column and he drove the vehicle to his residence. The contact sustained second degree burns to his chest.
Rear brakes wear out pre-maturely, ie 2600 miles. This is an inherent problematic design flaw. This is a known problem and has been discussed at length by many people on the victory motorcycle forums.
