What owners report
Short excerpts of NHTSA complaints in the original wording. These are owner statements not verified by NHTSA; personal data removed.
The air bags did not deploy. The contact sustained severe head, neck and lower back injuries. A police report was filed. The vehicle was drivable after the crash and taken to a local dealer. The dealer was unable to determine why the air bags did not deploy during the crash.
Just as the car was almost stopped, it revved-up/surged forward. I was afraid that the brake would not hold and we would hit the car in front of us. Three young girls were in the car with me.
Collins, stalled on the interstate, had to call a tow track. Upon investigation there are tons of posts on the internet with this problem, and notices in transmission shops. Living 90 miles away I took my car to volvo for service more than necessary.
The vehicle was taken to the dealer 2-3 times but they were unable to find the cause of the vehicle's sudden acceleration.
"reduced performance" and "check engine" light iluminated. Car would not exceed 20 mph with pedal to floor. Dealer having trouble duplicating. Refusing to accept car until something is repaired.
While driving there was a clicking noise from the rear right cv joint. Upon inspection of the vehicle the under carriage was full of grease and oil from the right rear cv joint. The right rear cv joint broke.
