The first time this incident occurred I slowed down to approximately 5 miles an hour, as the vehicle in front of me was turning and my vehicle shut off. I have contacted a general motors dealership and they stated that they are aware of issues where the chevy colorado's and gmc canyon's have timing issues to the point…
Drivers side door power window and power lock switch is working intermittently and vehicle has a slow battery drain requiring a jump start if it sits for longer than one day. Even one day is questionable for starting without a jump.
The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the anti-theft system warning light illuminated. As a result, the contact was unable to start the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The manufacturer was notified of the failure.
The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start. Thee contact had not taken the vehicle to the dealer or notified the manufacturer. The failure mileage was 56,780.
Everything died several times intermittently while driving on the highway then started having problems starting the vehicle. Problem discovered to be a faulty gm ignition switch. Note that the isuzu i290 is basically an identical vehicle to the chevrolet colorado.
