About VinWind and editorial policy

VinWind is an online service that analyses car damage from photos and VIN. The VinWind editorial team publishes news and guides about cars after accidents in 5 languages: Ukrainian, English, German, French and Polish.

Who we are

VinWind is a Ukrainian service that helps buyers, repair shops, resellers and insurers understand the condition of a car after an accident: what is damaged on the outside, what may be damaged inside and what a repair may cost.

News and guides are written by the VinWind editorial team. We do not sell cars, do not work for auctions or insurers and do not take payment for mentions.

Editorial policy

Every story is based on a verifiable fact: a court decision from the public register, the text of a law, an official manufacturer recall, open market data or an event in the service itself. The source is named in the text or under “Sources”.

The publication date is the real date the story went out. We never backdate. If a story is changed substantially, we show the update date.

In stories about court cases we anonymise the parties: no names, addresses, plate numbers or VINs. We do not reprint full court decisions.

Prices from listings are called asking prices, not sale prices. Samples are called samples, with their size and period.

Automated tools may help with drafts and translations. Every text is checked by the editorial team before publication, and facts are checked against the primary source.
